NPA: Network PC Appliance
Motium's NPAs are a family of low-cost, powerful, full featured, physically small PCs designed for use as general
purpose PC appliances in networking applications. For use by networking solution providers, software solution
providers and system integrators who need reliable, long-term available, PC platforms, that are bundled with the
software solutions being sold to customers.
A key design requirement was that NPAs not look like a PC. Rather they look like an industrial box. The
advantages of this are: low theft risk, low tamper risk and no knowledge by the customer that PCs are being used.
NPAs are ideal for firewalls, silent SOHO web and email servers, silent SOHO file servers, data logging, general
purpose controller PCs, etc.
All models include two 10/100 ethernet ports, allow one or two IDE flash drives or 2.5-inch hard disk drives to
be fitted, and include standard PC ports, such as RS232 serial ports, parallel printer port, USB ports, built-in
sound, and PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports.
